How do Portsmouth based EADS Astrium launch satellites into Space?
Please join JCI Portsmouth for a fascinating journey into the Space industry, along with dinner and business networking.
Hurry places are limited!
This October sees the 52nd Anniversary of the launch of Sputnik (4 October 1957) which was the first ever man made satellite. The Space industry in the UK started a few years after this momentous event and was recently described as a hidden jewel of British innovation and manufacturing industry by senior politicians.
Most people are completely unaware of just how much the Space industry contributes to their daily lives and in particular to the UK economy.
JCI Portsmouth is pleased to welcome Roy Haworth, Head of Equipment Procurement Operations UK, EADS Astrium based in Portsmouth. Come along and find out a little more about the Space industry and what the challenges are of designing, building and delivering a satellite into Space.
It’s not rocket science you know, well maybe it is just a little!!
