You don’t have to be a manager to be a leader. Everyone, in every organisation, has opportunities to lead others. Successful leaders capitalise on their skills and recognize when it is necessary to lead, and when it is necessary to follow.

In this engaging presentation Maureen Frost, Chief Executive of the Portsmouth & South East Chamber of Commerce, will provide an insight into what it takes to be a successful leader, and how to strike a balance of success for both your organisation and your team.

Maureen will draw on her extensive experience, and will discuss:
– The difference between ‘Leadership’ and ‘Management’
– How to inspire and gain commitment from a team
– The importance of considering the task, the team and the individual
– How to handle conflicting views and maintaining a team ethos
– Effective delegation
– Situational leadership – the importance of fitting the leadership style to the situation

The Royal Beach Hotel can be found on Southsea Sea Front opposite South Parade Pier.

Parking
Parking is available at the back of the hotel on Mansion Road. Drive past the Hotel (with the hotel on your left) and take the first left into Granada Road. Take the second left into Alhambra Road. Follow the road down and left turn into Mansion Road. Hotel parking is on the right hand side. The car park is very narrow in places so please take care. Please ask Reception for a parking permit which must be placed in your car.

If parking is not available at the hotel, there is plenty of free parking adjacent to the hotel on Alhambra Road, or paid parking is along the sea front which is a short walk away from the hotel.

Cancellations
‘No shows’ or cancellations not received within 48 hours of the event will be invoiced because we confirm final numbers with the hotel 48 hours before the event.
